NATA Review
This prospective study did not demonstrate a beneficial effect of acute normovolemic hemodilution (ANH) in patients undergoing cervicofacial and ENT surgery. However, it does not possess the statistical power to demonstrate such a potential beneficial effect.
In addition, ANH was not performed in the way it can be associated with a reduction in allogeneic blood exposure: post ANH target hemoglobin too high (10 g/dL) and blood volume collected limited to 1500 mL.
