Intraoperative moderate acute normovolemic hemodilution associated with a comprehensive blood-sparing protocol in off-pump coronary surgery.

This prospective randomized single blind study nicely demonstrated that the addition of moderate acute normovolemic hemodilution to a comprehensive and standardized blood conservation strategy could further reduce the need for allogeneic blood in patients undergoing off pump coronary surgery.
