This is a case report on 5 patients who suffered severe uncontrolled bleeding following surgery which failed to respond to transfusion of blood components and hemostatic drugs but eventually improved after receiving rFVIIa. Four patients had complete recovery, and one died of sepsis and multiorgan failure.
