This is the largest published series so far on the use of rFVIIa in controlling severe post-partum hemorrhage (PPH). Good and
partial response was observed in 11 out of 12 cases. PPH remains an important cause of
post-partum morbidity and mortality , and rFVIIa may be effective in its
management when used in combination with uterotonics medication or uterine
arterial ligation and may avoid the need for hysterectomy.
