This study is worth reading because it shows that when a country is aware of the possible effects of a therapy it is possible to change clinical practice within a few years. In this case, the amount of allogeneic blood transfusions dropped amazing in The Netherlands.
It contributes to improving clinical outcome and reducing health care costs.
