NATA Review
This randomized trial of 300 hip fracture surgery patients demonstrated that oral iron therapy had no clinically relevant benefit for the treatment of postoperative anemia following hip fracture surgery. There was no significant difference in the increase of hemoglobin at six weeks and there was also no difference in the length of hospital stay or in one-year mortality.
