Transfusion-related acute lung injury: from bedside to bench and back.

An excellent, well-documented review on transfusion-related acute lung injury (TRALI), referring to all the issues still being debated: definition, clinical presentation, incidence based on blood product transfusion, attempts at elucidating the responsible mechanisms, both in animal models and in vivo in humans. Finally, efforts at decreasing the incidence of TRALI, such as the use of male only plasma or solvent-detergent plasma. A most worthwhile read!
