NATA Review

While the conclusions of this systematic review are negative, i.e. no recommendation can be made regarding which hemoglobin level to target and which transfusion strategy (restrictive or liberal) should thus be favored in neurocritically ill patients, the authors’ results are important. They tell us what we do not know, encouraging us to stay away from positions based on “expert opinion” and provide impetus for future research.
