Colloid solutions for fluid resuscitation.

This updated meta-analysis indicates that there is no evidence that one colloid solution is more effective or safe than any other and that larger trials of fluid therapy are required to demonstrate differences in mortality between the different available colloids. These conclusions are similar to those presented by previous meta-analyses on the topic. Interestingly, the results are not modified when Boldt’s retracted studies are removed from the analysis.
