NATA Review
This study randomized over 700 women undergoing elective Cesarean section to receive 1 gram of tranexamic acid versus nothing. Blood loss was significantly reduced — 510 (SE 7.7) versus 242 (SE 6.8) mL — and the post-procedure fall in hemoblogin was less in those receiving tranexamic acid. Rates of post-procedure thrombosis were not formally assessed.
