An elegant and much needed meta-analysis of the effects of tranexamic acid (TA) on reducing bleeding in surgery. This analysis clearly shows that TA reduces bleeding by one third compared to controls (whatever the amount of blood loss). Moreover, a total dose of 1 g appears to be sufficient for most adults.
