Monitoring of dabigatran anticoagulation and its reversal in vitro by thrombelastography.

The authors investigated the in vitro effect of dabigatran on whole blood thromboelastography (TEG) and its reversal by recombinant activated factor VII (rFVIIa) and 4-factor prothrombin complex concentrate (PCC). Dabigatran changed all TEG parameters. There was little effect with PCC and some reversal with rFVIIa.

This paper adds to the literature on dabigatran reversal.
