Dania Fischer trained as an anesthesiologist at the University Hospital Frankfurt and has been serving as a senior physician at the University Hospital Heidelberg since 2020.

With a background in transfusion medicine, she has been active in research and teaching of patient blood management, hemotherapy and microcirculation. Her clinical interests also include a focus on neuroanesthesia.

Furthermore, she is vice president of the German Interdisciplinary Task Force for Clinical Hemotherapy (IAKH).
