Dr Roets is a consultant anaesthetist at the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital (Queensland, Australia) and co-author of the Australian Guidance for intraoperative cell salvage (ICS) with the National Blood Authority (Australia).

She completed a medical degree (South Africa), specialist training in anaesthesia, intensive care and pain medicine (Ireland), a master’s degree (MSc, Walden University, United States of America) and a PhD (The University of Queensland, Brisbane, Australia); focussing on the development of novel insights and technology in peri-operative transfusion and equipment.
