Axel Hofmann is a Doctor of Medical Science with a Master’s Degree in Economics and Adjunct Professor at the Faculty of Health and Medical Science, University of Western Australia. He consults governmental, public and private institutions globally on the implementation of PBM, and he currently serves as Chair of the WHO’s External Steering Committee for the development of a Policy Brief and a Guidance for worldwide implementation of PBM.

He is board member of the International Foundation for Patient Blood Management and the Sociedad Iberoamericana de Patient Blood Management.
