i-SEP is an innovative French start-up whose mission is to offer patients the unprecedented benefit of safe autologous transfusion by replacing or reducing the widely used, yet risky, scarce, and expensive allogeneic transfusion from donor blood. This affects over 60M patients worldwide, we have developed a new cutting-edge device, called same™ (Smart Autotransfusion for ME). It recovers both platelets and red blood cells during surgery from the patient’s own lost blood, for the first time ever. The blood concentrate is ready in 6 minutes. Our innovation will dramatically improve clinical outcomes for patients and decrease morbidity by up to 41% and mortality by up to 68%, while reducing healthcare costs.
