Jong Hyun Lee MD graduated from Chonbuk National University Medical College in Jeonju, South Korea in 1995, and obtained a Korean doctor’s license that year. From 1997 to 2001, he completed a course of Resident training in the Department of Anesthesiology and Pain Medicine at Asan Medical Center in Seoul, South Korea and obtained specialist of Anesthesiology and Pain Medicine. From 2001 until recently, he has been working as a specialist and consultant in anesthesia and pain medicine at Sejong General Hospital in Bucheon, Gyeonggi-do. South Korea. In 2008, he trained on echocardiography at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota, USA. In the same year, he trained on Patient Blood Management and bloodless medicine at Englewood Hospital and Medical center in New Jersey and at Pennsylvania Hospital in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. His main interest is Patient Blood Management, minimally invasive cardiac anesthesia, minimally invasive anesthesia, and monitored anesthesia care. He is a full member of the Korean Society for Anesthesiology and Pain Medicine, the Korean Society for Pain Medicine, the Korean Society for Cardio-thoracic Anesthesia, the Korean Society for Echocardiography, and Korean Society for Critical Care Medicine. He is co founder of the Korean Research Society for Transfusion Alternatives (KRSTA) and the Asian Society for Patient Blood Management (ASPBM), and is currently acting as a Board of Directors; He has a wife and one son and one daughter, and enjoys hiking and biking.
