Susan Goobie, MD, FRCPC is an Associate Professor of Anesthesia at Boston Children’s Hospital, Harvard Medical School. Her interests include blood conservation methods, coagulation disorders, anti-fibrinolytics, anemia and pharmacokinetic research.
She is a section editor for Pediatric Anesthesia and an executive section editor for the Patient Blood Management (PBM) Section of Anesthesia & Analgesia. She is chair of the Society for Pediatric Anesthesia PBM committee, and Chair of the Canadian Pediatric Anesthesia Society research committee. She is director of the Boston Children’s Hospital Pharmacokinetics Laboratory and the BCH PBM Program. She shares expertise in the field of blood management at international meetings and publishes original research, reviews, chapters and editorial views pertaining to Blood Conservation Techniques in Pediatric Surgery. She is an internationally recognized expert, and investigator on several large multicenter trials in the area of Pediatric Patient Blood Management.
She is from Newfoundland, Canada and lives in Boston with her husband, 3 children and a golden retriever. She is an avid cyclist and skier.
