Consultant anesthesiologist and intensive care specialist
Subspecialist in Intensive medicine
On daily basis my work in OR and Intensive Care for surgical patients allow me to implement and use the most valuable diagnostic and therapeutic tools and methods especially for vascular surgery patients, trauma surgery patient and in transplant medicine. Also in UHC Zagreb we standardized protocols for massive transfusion, routinely use POC coagulation devices, as ROTEM devices for early correction of coagulation disturbances. Implementing PBM on daily basis, allow a significant reduction in hospital expenses.
I am a leader and pioneer in perioperative patient optimization for surgery in my country. I run an outpatient clinic where patients are corrected, both anemic and malnourished, before surgery, thus improving their postoperative outcome. I am the initiator and member of the organizing committee of the Coagulation Day, a multidisciplinary and international symposium, which once per year brings the most important news in coagulation, PBM, therapy, and antidotes for coagulation disorders, treatment of anemia, and a number of excellent lectures and free interactive workshops. I apply new insights in my daily work and I have also confirmed my commitment with conference announcements and papers.
